On June 29, 2023, the Xiamen Yingxin Electric Volunteer Service Team, together with the Tong'an Tongxin Social Work Center, visited Xiyuan Village in Tong'an, Xiamen to continue the public welfare activity of "Micro renovation of isolated and impoverished family lines". This public welfare activity went deep into Xiyuan Village, conducting volunteer training on "Micro Light Plan - Household Inspection Techniques", while continuing to repair damaged circuits for impoverished elderly people in Xiyuan Village.
At the volunteer training session on household inspection skills, Xiaoli, an electrician from Yingxin Electric, used specific examples and interactive Q&A methods to explain various contents such as electricity usage and household inspection methods to the volunteers.
During the training, Xiao Li presented real cases based on the problems and situations he encountered in circuit maintenance in the past, allowing volunteers to understand how to use electricity safely and how to troubleshoot old circuits in the village. When volunteers asked questions about the requirements for line inspection, Xiao Li answered them one by one in easy to understand language.
The welcome volunteers once again arrived at the home of the elderly person in Xiyuan Village who was alone and in need. The volunteers carefully checked the electricity and wiring conditions in the elderly person's home and found that only the living room was electrified, and there were no lights in other places, making it inconvenient at night; At the same time, the power lines at the electrification site are old and messy, and the wires pulled by the elderly are wrapped in oil stains and twisted into a ball, which poses a potential electrical fire hazard.
Electrician Xiao Li immediately formulated a renovation plan. Firstly, he sorted and replaced all the wires, installed straps and wall slots, and fixed all the wires to prevent them from being damaged and causing fires; Secondly, according to the living habits of the elderly, reinstall the light switch and socket for easy use. After the renovation work, switches, sockets and other electrical appliances were installed, and the circuit became orderly, and the electrical facilities were refreshed.
This training and line renovation is a specific practice of Xiamen Yingxin Electric Volunteer Service Team in collaboration with Tong'an Tongxin Social Work Center.
